Science Home Page!
This website is for families of children in grades 3 through 5. Use the links above to link into your grade specific science website. The above websites were designed to inform families about units of study, key vocabulary, and grade-specific events in the "Super Science Lab." Look for homework assignments and test information on your grade specific page as well!
Continue reading to find information about the homework policy, donations, and internet links full of science fun. I will continue to update pages as topics change for each grade level.
Any question, feel free to contact me by handwritten letter or e-mail ([email protected]). I will do my best to respond to your e-mails as quickly as possible.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Yosevitz

Homework Policy
Homework assignments will be distributed every Friday. The assignment should be completed over the weekend, and returned to school on Monday (or by the specified due date on the assignment). Letters, homework assignments, study guides, and other important science related materials are distributed and "housed" in their homeroom homework folders.
If homework is not complete, or returned by the given due date, letters will be sent home. Please sign and return this letter to school the next day. The missing/late assignment should also be returned with this letter.
More than 3 missing/late homework assignments in a marking period will be brought to the principal's attention. Missing/late homework assignments will be reflected in the overall Science report card grade.
*All assignments are listed on your grade level webpage. In addition to a running list of assignments, I will do my best to upload the assignment online in case your child misplaces their work. E-mail me at [email protected] if you experience difficulties opening files.
Curriculum information
This year we will begin implementing the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) adopted by New York State. Earth science, life science and physical science concepts will be taught throughout the year through hands on learning experiences and various STEM activates to help children solve real world problems. Please view the updated NYC Scope and Sequence below by accessing the link or downloading the file.

Science Lab Materials and Donations
Many parents have asked what they can do to help the Science Lab run smoothly. Our little scientists are always getting messy! Baby wipes, paper towels, tissues, and table cleaning donations are greatly appreciated!
Occasionally, letters may be sent home for additional supplies. These supplies will be used during experiments throughout Science units. If you donate items and would like them to be returned, please write your child's name on the item so it will not be misplaced.
